Air diffuses through the rubber out of the car tire due to the pressure difference. On the inside of every car tire there is a thin layer of butyl-rubber which prevents air diffusion. The client is one out of three butyl-rubber manufacturers worldwide. The tool was developed in order to better serve the clients of the Femto client. The diffusion simulation shows quickly the influence of the thickness of the butyl-rubber layer (the innerliner). This is also an advantage, because with the new software is it possible to optimize the thickness of the very expensive rubber material.
