Lemniscate crane
Stress & buckling assessments have been performed for a new lemniscate crane engineered by a company for special cranes.
Femto Engineering has performed strength assessment of the machine floor, tower, ballast arm, upper jib and pulling rod of the OVET crane. All parts of interest were modeled to the right detail in order to find the stresses as a result
of two typical load cases, i.e. minimum and maximum flight. The assessment consisted of an evaluation of the occurring stresses and deformation in the plate material and beams at both given loads. Furthermore for both cases the buckling factors were calculated.
