Solution
The necessity to determine the minimum required bottle-stiffness is a direct result of using the bottle ’cap down’: The opening of the bottle is pointing downwards so that the product inside is ready for dosage at any time. The bottle should have sufficient stiffness to assure complete comeback of the deformations caused by the dosage.
Results
By means of computer analyses, in which the usage of the bottle is simulated, an optimal wall thickness distribution was determined, resulting in a maximal stiffness at a minimal weight.
