Use the VisQ feature in Femap to ease solving on a remote computer

Dear Femap User,

With the corona crisis ongoing working at home is showing some hurdles for the FEM engineer. One of these has been tackled by Siemens, who provided femap dongle customers with a license for use at home. However, while Office work is possible on all computers, our CAD and FEM software requires some beefy machinery to work properly. Femap has a feature for solving on a remote computer installed by default, called VisQ, but many users do not have it configured.

VisQ is a small program which handles the transfers to a remote computer and the retrieval of the results. To set up VisQ have a look at the VisQ-manual, or in [Femap install dir]\Femap 2020.1\pdf\.

If you have questions or need help configuring this, don’t hesitate to contact our support.
